Directions to Tweetsie Railroad
Tweetsie Railroad is located on Highway 321 between Boone and Blowing Rock, North Carolina. From the Blue Ridge Parkway exit at milepost 291 (Boone exit).
Please note an area of construction that could affect your travel to Tweetsie:
- US 321 between Lenoir and Blowing Rock closes for road construction on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Noon to 2:00 pm, and Mondays from 8 pm to 5 am Tuesday.
Be sure to allow for delays and/or detours, which route all traffic through Wilkesboro. During the closure, the following detour sign will be in place:
NC 18 to Wilkesboro to US 421 to Boone to US 321 to Blowing Rock.

“I just wanted to send you all a note to thank you for being around for all of these years. I came to Tweetsie as a kid (back in the late 70's) and had a great time. Now, I get to bring my kids back to do the same. We brought our then four year old daughter last October for the first time. She had been asking ever since "When can we go back?" We were able to bring her back this past Sunday and she was absolutely thrilled. She is now asking when we can bring her baby sister to Tweetsie with us. So I want to thank you all again for doing such a wonderful job and to say that we are already planning to see Tweetsie again year!”
